March 24th, 2018, the first Heart of a Champion Awards event was held at the Indiana County Country Club. Awards were given to local sheriff Bob Fyock, and his drug sniffing dog, Bak, and Steeler great and Hall of Famer Franco Harris. Pittsburgh’s Channel 4 (ABC) broadcast Mike Clark was the emcee. Over 270 attended the event and $111,000 was raised to fight the local opioid crisis. The monies were split evenly between the Open Door and the MARTI institute at IUP. Many great speakers shared their stories, including Shari Topeka and AJ Donnelly. Below are a few pictures from the event.
